Each group of volunteers comes with enthusiasm and hard workers able to accomplish amazing things. Imagine ten or twelve friends working on your home for a day. Also visuaize trying to provide meaningful work for that number and planning the day for another twenty or thirty!

I have the highest regard for the United Methodist Church that sent teams of dedicated Christians committed to fulfilling the commandment 'To love Thy Neighbor." I have been surrounded by people in need and people who need to help, a rare combination that produces a bond of love and respect never before experienced.

Demolition continues to create vast open spaces. Those that are able to rebuild are seeking funds and looking for workers. The volunteer corps will need to change focus and provide more skilled and semi-skilled helpers. The community will grow as jobs become available and people find new purpose in their lives.

Louis and Sandra will soon be able to move into their home. Diane, Keith and very active daughter Brianna, are patiently wainting for the day when they will leave their FEMA trailer and regain the space lost when 8 feet of water filled the second story of their home.
